Predisposition to language learning in adolescents from multilingual families

Language learning predisposition in adolescents from multilingual families' is a paper investigating bilingualism and multilingualism in adolescents who come from multilingual families. The aim of the paper was to comment on the effects on specific aspects of teaching based on the researched approach to language proficiency of bilingual learners. The main research focuses on the question of whether or not it is always true that these adolescents automatically have a talent for foreign languages. There are many stereotypes about bilingualism and bilingual or multilingual education in Czech society and in this paper the author confirms some of them and refutes some of them. The first part of this thesis is more theoretically oriented and explains various concepts related to bilingualism (such as code-switching, bilingual family, types of bilingualism, plurilingualism, second language acquisition, interference, positive transfer, sociolinguistics, etc.). In the second part of this thesis, the author will show in a differentiated perspective the variety of impacts of bilingual learners' backgrounds on language learning. Specifics of bilingual school management

This bachelor's thesis deals with the specifics of managing a bilingual school. The goal of the thesis was to find out what the specifics of bilingual school management are in the area of people management and management of the pedagogical process in comparison to a traditional school. To create this thesis, the method of studying professional domestic and foreign literature and other available sources was used. Thanks to this method, it was found out what the differences are between the management of traditional and bilingual schools. The work is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the basic conceptual definition related to the researched issue, based on professional literature. The first chapters define school management, further characterize the school director, his assumptions and competences. This is followed by a chapter dedicated to managing people, managing human resources and managing pedagogical processes. The final chapters of the theoretical part are devoted to defining bilingualism, its division and bilingual education in the territory of the Czech Republic, including its basic principles and goals. Bilingual preschool environment

This bachelor's thesis aims to examinate the bilingual educational environment in kindergarten. The theoretical part of the thesis describes bilingualism itself and the concepts associated with it. Other key areas outlined within the theoretical section are - bilingual family and its types, bilingual education and bilingual kindergartens. Furthermore, both the advantages and disadvantages of bilingualism are highlighted in the thesis along with analysis of speech development of bilingual and monolingual children. The aim of the practical part was to approach the bilingual educational environment with focus on its communication and the methods used. For this purpose, the author has conducted qualitative research in the form of case study, which took place for one day in a bilingual kindergarten in a Czech-German class. This section will reveal results of the kindergarten education observation and interview with both a German- and Czech-speaking teacher. Last parts of the thesis are dedicated to the author's personal experience with bilingualism and her insight into the issue.
Growing up bilingual

The diploma thesis focuses on children growing up in the environment of two languages formed by distinct conditions. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part includes divergent notions on the phenomenon, characteristics as well as a typology of bilingualism. This part also covers pros and cons of upbringing a bilingual child based on enriching surveys and studies. Theoretical knowledge is implemented into the practical part, where a book analysis is the main focus. Based on the analysis, multiple suggestions, as well as pieces of advice, are going to be explored and proposed to target groups. The aim of the diploma thesis is to inform about the bilingual environment, that may play an essential role in a child development. The thesis appeals to beginning bilingual parents, teachers, carers or practitioners.

This diploma thesis deals with development of communicational skills in children with hearing impairments in preschool. In this case communication is considered to bean atribute of society and it alsosals with the basic of human communication. It presents hearing impairments, its classification and the posibilities of auditory prostheses. It dis scuses the development of human speech and the influence of hearing impairments on it, the possibilities of communication and education of children with hearing impairments. Bilingual schools and European projects

The theme of this dissertation thesis is the relation of bilingual education and educational projects aimed at European issues. The research part was conducted at bilingual upper secondary schools in the Czech Republic, Germany and Great Britain (Wales). In the thesis the themes such as European politics, intercultural dialogue, international peace, human rights, humanitarian aid and language education are primarily included into European issues. The empirical research was deliberately realized at bilingual schools, where the instruction is delivered throught the medium of two languages. With regard to this fact a frequent participation at educational projects with European focus (European projects) was anticipated at these schools. European projects are often interconnected with the laguage studies. In recent years education projects have been an important part of the curriculum in Czech, German and British environment and they play a vital role in education context. The projects enrich the bilingual instruction from both methodical and content perspective and enable launching cooperation between schools and other partner institutions. Cooperation of a Czech Teacher With an English Native Speaker Teacher in a Bilingual School

The diploma thesis concentrates on characteristics of cooperation between czech and english speaking teachers in bilingual classes. The aim of this thesis is to explore the cooperation at elementary school and to find out the advantages and disadvantages of the collaboration between the two. The theoretical part of this work is based on the literature and it summarizes the main characteristic of this problém. The practical part is an outcome of the qualitative research. Case study focuses on detailed describtion of the bilingual programme backround gained by the author's personal experience. The choosen methods of the reaserch are intviews with bilingual programme teachers and observations of a native speaking teacher. The outcome of the thesis is analysis of data gained from the intrview and observing. On the based of the action research the thesis states the recommendations to rise the efectivity of the bilingual teacher's collaboration.
